Phil Sugino (Dojo Leader)

Phil started practicing karate in 1974 and has trained at various SKA dojos including Whittier, Santa Monica, Palo Alto and the Maryknoll Dojo. Phil currently lives in Tokyo, Japan but instructs at the Torrance Dojo on his regular visits the US.

Phil holds the rank of yodan (fourth degree) black belt.

Ryan Okabe

Ryan started karate practice at the Paramount Dojo and has trained at the Maryknoll Dojo.

He holds the rank of nidan (second degree) black belt.

Tim Lovoy

Tim started practicing karate in 1979 at the Cal State Long Beach Dojo.  He has practiced at the Long Beach, Paramount and Maryknoll Dojos.

He holds the rank of shodan (first degree) black belt.

Estelle Malamed

Estelle started practicing karate at the Central Dojo.

She holds the rank of shodan (first degree) black belt.

Natsuki Takano

Natsuki started practicing karate in 2003 at the Santa Monica Dojo.  She has also trained at the Maryknoll Dojo where she received her rank of shodan (first degree) black belt.
